ANGLERFISH
Goldfish Edition 1 of 1
Available
The Anglerfishh model is my tribute to the T style guitar of the 50s and 60s. I was very particular about the design and placement of the two wound for position signature cowbrand pickups. Also, I spent some time designing a bridge that perfectly mates with the pickups for saddle proximity. The bridge is also mated with a string block guide on the back of the guitar. Both are milled from duralumin with the bridge saddles being milled from hardened brass. I absolutely Love the sound of this model. One of the coolest I have designed!!

So here is my latest Anglerfish edition.
This one is called the Anglerfish / Goldfish.
This edition draws inspiration from the early solid body electric guitars of the 1950s. This is one that I have been wanting to do for a while. I decided 2025 was the year.
I started this project late spring of 2025 after spotting one of the coolest pieces of Douglas Fir I have ever seen on a wood suppliers web site. ( I love Douglas Fir!) I immediately contacted the company to enquirer about the availability of the Fir. Soon after, if was on its way to my studio. What I would do with it? I did not know! I only knew that it would be used for a top on something very cool.
Here is the result. An Anglerfish Paul Bigsby would dig. I Love the amber finish applied to the Fir top. Looks so very 1950s. Also I used vintage Ivoroid celluloid binding to accent the amber tint. The back and sides were left natural and finished in a clear Satin. The back is made from one of my coveted extremely rare Aircraft Poplar billets. (when they are gone, they gone!) Read more on the aircraft poplar here. The neck is carved from a solid piece of quarter sawn Spanish Cedar and is shaped vintage / modern. It’s Not too thick, but not too thin. The finish is a modern satin for a very natural non sticky feel. Rounding out the old school flavor are the two cool asymmetrical aluminum cover single coil pickups. Neck position pickups is loaded with pole piece AlNiCo 5 magnets and the bridge is an AlNiCo 5 blade. Both are old school scatter wound and hey sound the business too. The machine Heads are very cool Hipshot classic open back with industrial tuner buttons This thing is so cool!!!
This Fish is a special one! I decided I wanted to include an old school gator skin case with it.
The case is made with very light weight laminated birch and covered in durable dark brown faux alligator tolex with old school latches and a vintage style leather handle. The inside is Velour covered form fit foam for snug protective storage.
This was a fun year long personal build. It’s now available to grab
Feel free to send along any questions you may have on this 1 of 1 build.
