ELMER Radiola RW-01
True Parlor Electric
If there's an electric guitar that can be considered a sibling to the parlor acoustics of the 30s, 40s, and 50s, it's this one!
My passion for music ignited years ago while I worked part-time at a music store during high school. Many older gentlemen visited for their weekly guitar string replacements, and I had no idea some were among the last original true blues artists of a by gone era. Their spontaneous performances on various guitars inspired my love for authentic fingerstyle blues. While I won't name them, any fan of this style would recognize a few! I became devoted to this genre and developed a deep appreciation for the parlor-sized acoustic guitars typically linked to it. I often imagined an electric guitar that embodies the essence of the music I've cherished for so long. The closest I found were the Chicago catalog brands from back in the day, which were decent, but I knew I could create something even better!
Let me introduce the Elmer Radiola. Its name pays tribute to the early days of broadcasting when a mix of live and early recorded music filled the airwaves, especially in rural areas, serving as a primary source of entertainment, second only to live juke joint dances. Today, these hidden joints and clubs resonate with that same vibe, but they’ve gone electric. So why not create a new type of guitar that fits the modern era?
The Radiola has a vary mild Vee shaped neck carve. It's great for standard electric playing or for shifting into fingerstyle playing. It's perfctly at home with a variety of string gauges sets. Whether you are into regular fingerstyle, slide playing or standard electric guitar playing, The radiola is a great match.
